Red ochre powder is a natural earth pigment coloured mainly by iron oxide (hematite) mixed with clay and silica. It gives a warm brick-red shade for floor colouring, primers, cement products, terracotta and traditional uses.
Red ochre is supplied as fine powder. Shade, iron oxide content and fineness vary from lot to lot, so we share these with the quotation and can send a small sample for shade matching. Packing is in HDPE bags, from small packs for trials to bulk lots for regular users. For a stronger, more uniform red, you can also ask about synthetic iron oxide pigments in our Pigments range.
Keep bags closed in a dry place, as damp powder forms lumps and is harder to disperse. The powder stains hands and clothes, so wear gloves and use a dust mask when handling large quantities. Refer to the SDS for full handling advice.
