About E492 Emulsifier

E492 is sorbitan tristearate (STS), a non-ionic surfactant made from sorbitol and stearic acid. It is used as an emulsifier, dispersing agent and stabiliser in foods such as chocolate, margarine and confectionery coatings.

Storage and handling

Store in closed bags in a cool, dry place away from heat, as the product can soften and cake at high temperatures. Keep away from oxidising agents and strong odours. Refer to the SDS.
